40th Anniversary of The Big Chill

Today we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Big Chill, which opened on September 28, 1983.

The story revolves around a group of old college friends who reunite for a weekend after the funeral of one of their friends. During this reunion, they reflect on their past and the changes that have occurred in their lives. The film explores themes of nostalgia, friendship, and the passage of time.

“The Big Chill” was not only praised for its well-crafted storytelling and performances but also for its soundtrack, which included songs like “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye, “My Girl” by The Temptations, and many other classic tunes. The film’s soundtrack contributed to a revival of interest in 1960s and 1970s music.

Throughout the day we will be playing songs from the movie soundtrack.
